The person using the 10lb test reel with 8lb test line can use 300ft of line. It doesn't matter if you're using low lb test on low drag with a good rod. So my question is: wouldnt it be more fair that XP is calculated from what settings you currently are using, rather than how much your gear can handle? I've explained this before. Even though a lower level reel might be able to generate a higher drag and get no XP reduction.
For example, if I lower my drag settings to "very" low on my reel I still get an XP reduction.
